School started two weeks ago. Risto is like a fish in the water, Tuomas and Jaakko are struggling more, but not once have we had to leave crying children at school!
The first morning.
Tuomas was close to tears when I left him in his classroom, but when we picked them up he was laughing and had found a new friend.
Tuomas has had a hard time expressing himself, so the teacher suggested I make him some helper cards. They are in Finnish on the other side (and he can read) and he drew the faces and the one with the teasing kid. Hopefully these will prevent him from having another total melt down at school.

Mulle tuli ihan kyyneleet silmiin kun näin nuo lappuset.
Muistan meinaan NIIN hyvin sen tunteen viisivuotiaana, kun ei ymmärtänyt sanaakaan, vaikka kuinka yritin. Se on ihmeellinen, turhauttava ja hämmentävä tunne. Ja muistan myös yhden hetken, kun oivalsin yhden sanan. Se oli "run", ja tajusin, että se tarkoittaa "juosta". Parin kuukauden kuluttua puhuin kuin natiivi ja kirjoitin ja luin molemmilla kielillä.
Eli kyllä se siitä, mitä todennäköisimmin.
